Strawhouse Loop

Yesterday I just hiked the Strawhouse loop. According to a hiking guide the trail was named for a house built of river cane that used to be at the southern end of the trail. I only did about a 6 mile loop that connects with the Marufo Vega. It winds through a short, lovely cool canyon that contains some rock art. Perhaps I can do the longer 14 mile trail, but I need to do that soon because the high temperatures are already making it too hot to do safely.
