Petrified Forest National Park

Not much going on today. Drove to Albuquerque to get my latest blog book and stopped at the park on the way home. Sunny and warm all day – temperatures ranged from 46 this morning to 84. Windy, random rain showers blowing around but very pleasant.

One of the many dinosaurs from the Triassic period. They were really impressive herbivores and carnivores as well. Most of them I had never heard of but all residents of this area at one time.

The petrified wood is beautiful! The rangers were talking about the gram & gramps whom they had just caught stealing petrified wood this afternoon. Even today, one ton of petrified wood is stolen from the park PER MONTH!!

Last night’s desert sunset . . . on the lookout for an equally beautiful one tonight.
